Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai has reacted to the decision by the organisers of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) to snub her in the 2026 nominations.

The thespian took exception to her omission in a now-viral post shared recently on her official X (formerly Twitter) page.

The organisers of the 12th edition of the AMVCAs recently unveiled the nominees, with Afegbai’s co-star in To Kill A Monkey, Bimbo Akintola, earning a nomination for Best Lead Actress.

Reacting to the snub, Afegbai chided the organisers for leaving her out, arguing that her character, Idia, was the most talked-about role in the hit series.

She went on to say that she does not care much for validation, stating that the organisers can “eat” their award.

Speaking via her verified handle, she said: “AMVCA smh [shaking my head]. I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason.

“I don’t need a nomination for validation. The truth is clear: nobody trended like Idia from TKAM last year. Her acting was 100. You guys can eat your award.”
