Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya has denied viral reports suggesting that popular Fuji singer Abbas Akande, better known as Obesere, is her biological father.
The thespian made the clarification on Monday via a video shared on her official Instagram page.
She was reacting to trending news that surfaced on social media over the weekend, in which some outlets alleged she had made the claim.
Reacting to the reports, Debbie refuted ever spreading such a narrative, adding that she has never had any contact with Obesere.

She also urged bloggers who “jumped” on the fake news to do the needful by posting her side of the story to correct the false impression.
Speaking amid the backlash, Debbie said: “It is not funny anymore; the news is everywhere. I have never met Obesere before, and you claim I said he’s my biological father? Don’t I look like my father? Am I not my biological father’s replica?
“Obesere is not my biological father. Please stop spreading fake news! Stop writing or posting things I never said. Some commentators do not even think well enough to realise that these things are fake; they start to throw abuses.
“I’ve never said or written this, nor did I ‘cry out’ as they claimed. Please stop spreading false news. Bloggers should also post this video the same way they were quick to jump on that misconception.”
