Actor, Itele, apologises for abandoning his kids, ex-wife

Itele begged netizens who felt disappointed about his earlier rant on social media and promised to take his children’s well-being more seriously

Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Yekini better known as Itele and famous for acting in Yoruba movies has opened up on why he abandoned his four children and ex-wife.

A viral video that recently made the rounds on social media revealed the poor environment and living conditions of the actor’s immediate family. 

However, hours after the clip went viral, the thespian took to his official   Instagram page, to apologise to Nigerians and explain the circumstances that led to the perceived abandonment. 

According to Itele, he has been in and out of the hospital battling an undisclosed ailment, but he chose to keep it secret to avoid getting his fans worried.

He, however, admitted wrongdoing and apologized for how he approached issues relating to his former wife.

The 42-year-old actor contended that he is not perfect and begged netizens who felt disappointed after his earlier outburst.

He then reiterated that he loves his four children and will start taking their well-being more seriously going forward. 

He wrote, “The past few days have been a Roller coaster of emotions for me. First and foremost, I would like to thank those who reached out concerning this issue. Thank you so much, God bless Everyone.

“Recently I have been in and out of the hospital but I choose not to post or say anything about it on my page so I don’t bother anyone trusting God for good health until few days ago when the issue of my Ex-wife and kids made its way to the internet, felt so bad and typed out of anger which I regret bitterly. Nobody is perfect and will want to apologise openly to my fans, family, and friends who felt disappointed by my write-up, I take back those words and I promise going forward I will do BETTER. 

“Love my kids and promise to do the needful henceforth, I am apologising to the general public to please forgive my earlier outburst and disregard it, To my Fans worldwide, God bless everyone, and to those who reached out too, appreciate it a lot, Thank you.”
