He went for a course in Denmark and specialized in sub-editing.

He returned to the Graphic as Assistant Sub-Editor before he got appointment with the Nigerian Herald at Ilorin in Kwara State in 1975.

When the Triumph Newspaper was established by late Governor Abubakar Rimi in 1979, he resigned from Herald and joined The Triumph as the pioneer sub-editor and worked in that capacity until late 80s.

After leaving The Triumph, he moved down to Kaduna to join The Today Newspaper owned by Alhaji Coomasie.

His sojourn with The Today was brief. He moved on to join the New Nigerian where he stayed for some years as sub-editor.

And when the Daily Trust Newspapers came into existence under the leadership of Malam Kabiru Yusuf, Mr Nii was offered appointment to head the sub-editing table and later moved to the production desk.

He worked there until late 2019 when he was retired and returned to Ghana in December 2021.
