Players and officials of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC, Ilorin have received all entitlements up to date, including bonuses, salaries, and allowances owed them in 2016.
They expressed gratitude to the club’s proprietor, Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Chairman, Seni Saraki; and the management for releasing the money.
Club captain, Bolaji Abdulkadir, said the payment will lift morale of the team.
“We are delighted this is coming at this time; it will surely go a long way to motivate us in the remaining games of the season.
“The management has made a statement that they are serious about our welfare and we will pay them back by gaining promotion.
“We (players) are going to put heads together to redouble our effort in ensuring we play in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season” Abdulkadir pledged.
Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said it is part of the vision of Seni Saraki to ensure all contractual agreements with players and coaches are fully honoured to enhance efficiency.
He expressed the hope that the payment will ensure the players and the technical crew show more commitment on the field of play to put smiles on the faces of Kwara football fans.
Chukwuemeka disclosed that Seni Saraki has put machinery in place to pay previous arrears which will be based on negotiable instalment.
