“Governor AbdulRazaq says the death of General Adangba is a profound loss not just to the Ilorin Emirate but to the entire nation, calling it a painful closure of a bright page in Nigeria’s political and military history.

“He sends his heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari and the people of the Emirate, the family of the late General, and the military hierarchy on the development.

“Governor AbdulRazaq prays to Allaah to admit him to Al-jannah Firdaus and give the family patience to bear the huge loss,” the statement reads.

Also in his condolences, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ilorin West/Asa federal constituency, Mukhtar Tolani Shagaya hailed the decead’s contributions to security and governance in the country.

“In moments of profound loss, I extend my heartfelt commiserations to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Kwara State Government, the revered Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-gambari CFR; and the entire community of Ilorin as they bid farewell to a true titan and legendary son, Major General Abdullahi Mohammed (rtd), ‘Atoto’.

“His life was not merely a sequence of high offices, but a crucial thread woven into the very tapestry of Nigeria’s security and governance structure across several tumultuous decades. General Mohammed was the quintessential silent power broker—a steady, disciplined hand that guided the nation through transitions, serving as an architect of national security (NSO DG, NSA) and a trusted anchor in the Presidency (Chief of Staff).

“His impact transcends his formidable resume; it lies in the legacy of fidelity, wisdom, and strategic influence he leaves behind. Though he is physically gone, the depth of his contributions to stability and leadership remains an indelible inheritance. May the depth of his faith be rewarded, and may Almighty Allah receive his soul into the highest place in Paradise, Aljanat Firdaus,” Shagaya’s statement reads.
