Human rights lawyer and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji Abayomi has showered encomium on the Nigeria’s Women athletes for their feat at the 2022 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Birmingham
Abayomi in a statement tilted: “Women Arise” noted that with the impressive performance by the athletes, “I see a Nigeria that will rise above current challenges and take its place of prominence in the comity of nations.”

Abayomi also lauded the coaching crew and team officials for lifting sport development in Nigeria
His words: “Thanks for honoring your time Women of Nigeria. Thanks Mothers, future Mothers, Aunties and Sisters for forming the World.
“Thanks at this depressing time in our national history for lifting our spirit with your Race OF GOLD. Thanks WOMEN ON NIGERIA. I celebrate you”, he added.
President Muhammadu Buhari also hailed the Team Nigeria and the coaching crew for making the country proud by winning 35 medals at the 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. All the 12 gold medals won by by the team were the contribution of the women athletes.
