The show goes on as BBA returns Oct 5

The devastating fire that consumed the Big Brother House on September 2 may have done a lot of damage, but as is the tradition in show business, the show must go on, no matter what happens.

Not only have the organisers found a new home, they have since started to reveal participants in this year’s edition tilted ‘Hotshots’.

The reality show, which is in its ninth season and is produced by M-Net and Endemol SA, found another house in Johannesburg, South Africa. Following this, Big Brother Hotshots will officially launch on Sunday, October 5 at 19:00 (CAT).

 

The countdown to the launch has since started. At press time, names of six of the housemates were revealed to fans across the continent. They are: Alusa, 33, from Kenya; Ellah, 23, and Esther, 23, from Uganda; and Butterphly, 24, from Zimbabwe. Others are Goitse, 22, from Botswana; and Idris, 21, from Tanzania.

The Kenyan is a Nairobi-based actor, radio drama director and MC, married with three children. Ellah, who lives in Nsambya, Uganda, with a BSc in Business Computing, is a sales assistant. He enjoys watching reality shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta, New York and Orange County. The Zimbabwean is a radio, television presenter and producer from Harare who entered Big Brother Hotshots because she’d always wanted to be part of a national sports team, but never got the chance.

 

Goitse is a Fine Arts undergraduate who hails from Mahalapye in Botswana. ‘Pint-sized Esther, a student, hails from Uganda’s Nsambya, while Idris is a photographer from Arusha in Tanzania.
