Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has advised people not to lose themselves in romantic relationships while pursuing their personal goals.
The actress shared the advice on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in a message posted on her social media page, where she spoke about love, hard work and self-worth.
According to her, building a successful career requires sacrifices, dedication and sleepless nights before one can achieve recognition.
She warned that people should not allow romantic relationships to distract them from their ambitions or make them abandon the goals they have worked hard to achieve.
“Nothing wrong with falling in love o! Just don’t lose yourself,” Akindele said.
She further encouraged people to know their worth, remain focused and prioritise self-love, adding that the message was also a personal reminder to herself.
The actress’s statement has attracted attention amid online speculation about her relationship with fellow Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo following their interaction at an event. However, neither the speculation nor the timing of her message confirms a romantic relationship between them.
