Nkechi Blessing, who was visibly inconsolable while paying tribute to CJay, had earlier broken the news of his passing.

Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, was unable to control her emotions while paying tribute to her late colleague and friend, Chijioke Nwokafor, also known as CJay, at his service of songs on Wednesday, 7 October.
The thespian displayed the depth of her grief and wept openly in a now-trending video of the event which circulated online afterwards.
Prior to this, Nkechi Blessing had broken the news of his passing to the public, visibly inconsolable as she spoke about losing her friend.
She said: “Cjay Nwoke Oma💔 so this is really the end? Omo we had plans oooo, Kaii💔 Spoke to you 8am today and few hours later you are no more with us…Omo pls Return if possible cus I refuse to type otherwise 💔 this is too much for me to handle 💔.”

However, at the service of songs, when she was invited to the front to deliver a tribute, the weight of her emotions proved overwhelming.
Speaking about their bond, Blessing revealed that she and CJay were in near-daily contact, and that the late actor carried a strong sense of optimism about his future in the film industry.
According to her, he was full of plans and ideas, and she expressed the wish that he could somehow witness the outpouring of love and sorrow from the people gathered in his honour.
Blessing later broke down completely midway through her speech, dropped the microphone, and walked back to her seat without completing her tribute.
