African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2027 vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, has sounded a note of warning to chieftains of the opposition party, saying that victory for President Bola Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming presidential election would lead to the retirement of most ADC leaders.

He made this known on Wednesday in Abuja, the nation’s capital, while addressing participants at the ADC National Women League Conference.

The former Minister of Transportation urged opposition party leaders to go all out in their respective states to ensure Tinubu loses the 2027 presidential election.

He also vowed to retire from partisan politics if the APC emerges victorious and President Bola Tinubu is re-elected in 2027.

Speaking at the event, Amaechi said: “If you are not from FCT, go home and campaign. As for me, I am going on Wednesday. I will not wear a suit; I will dress like a young man.

“Let me tell you what will happen: we, the crop of leaders you see here, if the APC wins the 2027 elections, we are retired from politics. So if you don’t want us to retire from politics, we must go home.”

He further noted that if everyone at the conference goes to their respective ward and secures a certain amount of votes on election day, the ADC will win the presidential poll.

The former Rivers State governor added: “If you bring two thousand votes per ward—just bring two thousand votes—we will win the election.”
