Real Madrid have provided an update on the condition of forward Kylian Mbappé after he left the France national squad, confirming he has been diagnosed with a “hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee” following medical tests.
The La Liga giants confirmed the nature of the injury sustained by the French captain in a statement on their website on Saturday.
Mbappé suffered the knee injury during France’s 1–0 win over Turkey in Kocaeli on Friday, forcing him to withdraw from the Les Bleus squad ahead of their Nations League clash with Belgium on Monday.

In their official statement, Real Madrid stated: “Following tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee. His recovery will be monitored.”
Reports from France indicate that the 27-year-old is expected to be sidelined for around two weeks, meaning he should return in time for El Clásico against Barcelona on 25 October.
