Fasoranti congratulates Deji of Akure over Ulefunta Festival

The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, has felicitated with the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, and the people of Akure on the occasion of the 2026 Ulefunta Festival.
Fasoranti, in a goodwill message personally signed by him, described the annual festival as a significant cultural institution that embodies the identity, heritage and enduring unity of the people of Akure.
He said Ulefunta was more than a traditional celebration, noting that the festival represented a period of thanksgiving, reflection and spiritual renewal for the people.
According to him, the festival marks the transition from one traditional year to another while providing an opportunity for the people to reconnect with their history, culture and ancestral heritage.
“On behalf of myself, my family and the good people of Akure Kingdom, I, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, Secretary to the State Government, heartily felicitate with His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR, the Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, and the entire sons and daughters of Akure Kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, on the occasion of the 2026 Ulefunta Festival,” he said.
Fasoranti added: “Ulefunta is not just a festival; it is the soul and identity of Akure people. It is a sacred season of thanksgiving, reflection and spiritual rebirth that marks the end of one traditional year and the beginning of another.”
He noted that the festival also serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage and unity of the Akure people, as well as the blessings of God upon the kingdom.
The SSG also commended the Deji for what he described as his fatherly leadership and efforts towards sustaining peace, unity and development in Akure Kingdom.
“I join millions of well-wishers to celebrate the custodian of our culture, Kabiyesi Deji, whose reign has continued to bring peace, development and honour to Akure Kingdom.
“Your wisdom and fatherly leadership have kept Akure as a beacon of peace in Ondo State,” Fasoranti stated.
While congratulating the monarch and the people of Akure on the festival, the SSG prayed for the continued peace, prosperity and development of the kingdom.
He also prayed for long life, sound health and a peaceful and impactful reign for Oba Aladelusi on the throne of his forefathers.
Fasoranti further prayed that Akure would continue to witness greater development and remain united, while urging the people to sustain the values of peace, togetherness and cultural preservation.
He wished the people of Akure many more years of celebrating the Ulefunta Festival in peace, joy and abundance.
