Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has refuted claims that he was intent on leaving Serie A outfit Napoli during the summer transfer window.
He denied the rumours on Tuesday while addressing the situation during a press conference with the Belgium national team.
Earlier, there were reports that the 33-year-old midfielder was keen to leave the Italian club because his relationship with Napoli’s former manager, Antonio Conte, broke down last season.
It was further reported that the Belgium international was linked with a move away from the Serie A club to other European and Asian teams.

However, while dispelling the reports, the former Manchester City star told reporters that he did not attempt to leave Napoli in the summer as claimed.
According to him, he simply enjoyed his holiday before returning to Napoli.
“No, I haven’t really spoken to anyone about it [trying to leave Napoli],” De Bruyne said.
He added: “I just enjoyed my holiday and went straight back to Naples.”
