Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed that Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is his favourite Arsenal player so far this season, after the Norwegian helped the Gunners maintain a perfect start to their title defence.
The former Welsh winger made this known recently while speaking about the midfielder on the Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube channel.

Last season, Odegaard had a relatively disappointing campaign by his own standards, scoring only one goal while contributing six assists during Arsenal’s title-winning run in the Premier League.
This marked a significant decline in his output compared to his second and third years at the Emirates, when he posed a considerable goal threat and was honoured as Arsenal’s Player of the Season on two occasions.
However, Odegaard has made a strong start to this season, netting Arsenal’s third goal in the Community Shield and scoring against both Coventry City and Chelsea in the Premier League.

The Norwegian continued his impressive form by scoring the decisive goal in the Gunners’ Champions League win over Napoli last week, although he was largely subdued as Mikel Arteta’s side secured a 2–0 victory at Sunderland over the weekend.
While praising Odegaard’s current form, Giggs, who won 13 Premier League titles with Manchester United, noted that he has been “controlling games” and “everywhere” on the pitch.
Asked to name his favourite player in Mikel Arteta’s squad, he replied: “Odegaard at the moment.”
Giggs added: “It looks like he’s controlling games to me, getting it off the back four, running in behind.
“He’s everywhere! He wins the ball back, he’s defensively very good. Yeah, he just looks strong.”
