Falconets captain Joe Igbokwe and defender Faridat Abdulwahab will both miss the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup taking place in Poland after failing to obtain visas to enter the country.
The Falconets arrived in Trzebnica, Poland, on Tuesday, with head coach Moses Aduku now putting the finishing touches to his team’s preparations ahead of the competition.
The Nigerian under-20 women’s team are drawn in Group F alongside Spain, China PR, and New Caledonia.
On Friday, they are expected to test themselves against hosts Poland in a friendly at the Municipal Stadium in Brzeg.

The Nigerian side will also face Korea Republic in their final pre-tournament friendly at the Remes Resort & Spa Football Stadium next Tuesday.
They will then begin their campaign against Spain on Monday, 7 September, before facing their remaining group opponents later in the tournament.
However, Aduku has now been forced to make two changes to his squad for the World Cup following the inability of his captain and defender to obtain visas that would enable them to participate in the tournament.
While Igbokwe was replaced by Vivian Kachi, Abdulwahab’s spot in the final squad was taken over by fellow defender Alaba Olabiyi.
