Alicia Daniella, wife of popular photographer David Martins, has publicly opened up about her experiences of domestic violence in their marriage, prompting other women to share their experiences with the photographer.

On August 15, 2026, Alicia shared what she described as years of abuse in her marriage to Martins, on her Instagram page. She further presented substantial evidence to support her account.

Alicia said she had left the marriage following a physical assault on May 7, 2026, which she said directly affected her son. She also disclosed that she had reported the abuse to the Lagos Police Gender Unit, as well as the U.S. and Canadian embassies, and said a case had been opened.

According to Alicia, she had spent years protecting Martins’ public image and concealing what was happening behind closed doors. She further said that members of Martins’ family and some of his friends were aware of the violence but largely ignored what was happening.

She also spoke about Martin’s  infidelity during their marriage, alleging that he was involved with other women.

Following Alicia’s revelations, several other women came forward with their own accounts concerning Martins. Their accounts include accusations of sexual violence, with one involving a minor that reportedly occurred before Martins’ marriage to Alicia.
