Award-winning Nollywood director and producer Dimbo Atiya has passed away at the age of 52.
His death was announced on Thursday by the founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, in a post shared on his official Instagram handle.
According to him, Atiya, who was known for masterminding hit television series like Halita and Sons of the Caliphate, reportedly died on Thursday morning.

Oloketuyi wrote: “Dimbo Atiya is dead. The top Nollywood director passed on this morning. Details later.”
Also confirming his demise, actor Mofe Duncan shared a picture of the deceased on Instagram and wrote: “God no, not Dimbo. I’m devastated. One of the greatest minds in the entertainment industry.”
As of the time of this report, the cause of Dimbo’s death remains unknown. The news comes just hours after the passing of fellow movie star Tope Osoba.
