English Premier League (EPL) champions, Arsenal, and Newcastle United are set to confirm a £75 million deal for Magpies captain Bruno Guimarães after finally agreeing to end the transfer saga.

This was disclosed in a post shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday morning on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Bruno checked into Newcastle’s training camp in La Manga on Monday and has spent time with team officials and incoming manager Matthias Jaissle.

According to reports, the Brazilian international has continued to make it clear that he wishes to pursue a move to London and sign a bumper deal with Arsenal.

Newcastle’s stance has always been that they do not want to sell their captain. However, Romano has now reported that the clubs have reached an agreement.

Taking to his verified account, the Italian journalist wrote: “Bruno Guimarães to Arsenal, HERE WE GO! 🇧🇷

”Agreement in place with Newcastle after long talks and personal terms in place with Bruno since July. Fee worth £75m.
”New midfielder for Mikel Arteta soon.”

Valued at £60m by a series of market experts, Newcastle feel they will be getting a better price for ex-Lyon star Guimarães, who cost them £38m four years ago.

However, with a guaranteed £75m and no milestones or triggers needed to reach the full fee, they became open to the deal.

Apart from this, agreeing on the deal in time will also mean Newcastle, who have lost some key players already, can reinvest quickly back into the squad.
