General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, otherwise known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has expressed concern over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria, urging President Bola Tinubu to “stop pretending and act now”.
The clergyman expressed his frustration about the crisis and the indecisive action of the incumbent president in solving it in a now-viral video that recently made the rounds online.
Oyedepo, who noted that he had “been quiet for a long time” on the matter, accused the Tinubu-led administration of pretending not to know what to do to tackle the situation.
He expressed anger over the persistent attacks and killings across the country, warning that Nigerians who have endured the situation for a long time may no longer remain silent.

He argued that he cannot pray for those who “slaughter” members of his family, adding that he will surely pray that they and their household incur the wrath of God.
The cleric condemned those behind the attacks and killings of unarmed Nigerians, stating that victims should not be expected to show sympathy towards the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
Speaking in the trending clip, Oyedepo fumed: “The president needs to act now and stop pretending. You can’t slaughter members of my family and expect me to pray for you. I will pray against you and your household.
“The government is pretending like they don’t know what to do. I have been quiet for a long time, but the bubble is about to burst.”
He went on to accuse the government of failing to demonstrate the urgency required to protect citizens and restore confidence.
