Afrobeat singer, songwriter and music producer, David Adeleke better known as Davido has taunted the president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, a.k.a MC Oluomo following his rejection Governor Ademola Adeleke’s order in Osun State.

Last week, the Osun governor ordered the immediate suspension of all NURTW activities in motor parks across the state ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

In a statement issued by the commissioner for information and public enlightenment,Kolapo Alimi, he said the directive was issued after a meeting of the Osun state security council, chaired by the governor.

He added that the decision followed deliberations on the security situation in the state, adding that it was to restore sanity to parks and stop the collection of levies.

While reacting to the government pronouncement, MC Oluomo rejected the ban, insisting that the governor doesn’t have authority over NURTW activities.

Speaking through his deputy, Aliyu Issa Ore, he said, “Today, we heard that the state governor in Osun suspended the activities of our union, which they don’t have the power to do.

“Not any single state governor has the power to suspend the activities of the union because we are not under any state. There is an Act that established the NURTW.”

While mocking MC Oluomo in a post on social media, Davido said “MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk.. Kudosuuuu.”

His post after making the rounds online sparked diverse reactions, with some netizens knocking the ‘Electricity’ hitmaker’s decision to aim a dig at the union leader.

However, doubling down on Monday evening in another post on his Instagram story, Davido questioned MC over his involvement in the ongoing political thuggery activities in Osun State against Adeleke’s government.

Tagging MC in the post, Davido asked: “@kingmcoluomo dem say u Dey game. I doubt lol look ur mirror.”
