ADC Rivers gov candidate Pidomson mourns Amaechi’s mum
The ADC governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, has commiserated with Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers State, former minister of transportation, and ADC vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, over the passing of his mother, Mary Amaechi.
In a statement released by the Pidomson Campaign Organisation in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Dr. Pidomson said he received the news of Ezinne Amaechi’s passing at the age of 84 with a heavy heart.
He described the late matriarch as a remarkable mother whose guidance, values, and sacrifices helped lay the foundation for the outstanding leadership and service that her son has rendered to Rivers State and Nigeria.
According to Dr. Pidomson, “The values of strength, service, integrity, and leadership that you have consistently demonstrated in your service to Rivers people and Nigeria are a reflection of the exceptional woman who raised you. She was indeed a great mother. Though she has departed this earthly life, her prayers, virtues, and enduring legacy will continue to live on through you and in the countless lives you have touched.”
Dr. Pidomson noted that Mrs Amaechi lived a life of faith, strength, compassion, and selfless service to her family, community, Rivers State, and Nigeria.
He further stated that her death presents an opportunity for all Rivers people to demonstrate the unity, oneness, and love for one another that she preached and practiced throughout her lifetime.
“At this solemn moment, I urge all Rivers people, irrespective of political, ethnic, or religious differences, to honour her memory by embracing the values of peace, harmony, and mutual respect that she exemplified. There can be no better tribute to her life than our collective commitment to the unity and progress of Rivers State,” he said.
Dr. Pidomson, on behalf of his family and the entire ADC family in Rivers State, extended deepest condolences to His Excellency, the entire Amaechi family, and the good people of Ubima.
He prayed, “May Almighty God grant you and the entire Amaechi family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. May He grant Mama eternal rest and everlasting peace in His heavenly kingdom.”
The Rivers ADC governorship candidate added that he will pay a condolence visit to the family in Ubima in due course and assured the Amaechi family of his thoughts, prayers, and solidarity during this difficult time.
