Former France international Claude Makelele has disclosed that he encouraged Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez to secure the services of his compatriot and Bayern Munich winger, Michael Olise.
The former Chelsea midfielder revealed this during a recent interview with Marca.
Olise, who is currently on international duty for France at the World Cup, has been linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid during this summer’s transfer window.
Speaking on the development, Makelele said he is fully supportive of the move, adding that the former Crystal Palace forward has made him “rediscover the feeling of watching football”.

He went on to state that Olise is endowed with talent, freedom, quality, and efficiency, and that his absence is deeply felt whenever he is not on the pitch.
”Olise to Real Madrid? I would support it. I had the chance to speak with President Florentino, and I told him, if you can only afford to sign one player, it’s him,” Makelele said.
He added: “Olise has made me rediscover the feeling of watching football, the taste we had as kids: talent, freedom, quality, efficiency. When he is not on the pitch, you can feel his absence.”
Olise will be an exciting addition for Real Madrid’s manager, José Mourinho, if the Spanish outfit end up signing him for the new campaign.
