England joined France and Spain in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup after beating Norway 2-1 in a match played at the Miami Stadium.
Ståle Solbakken’s men took a shock lead in the 36th minute after Andreas Schjelderup profited from a Martin Ødegaard assist to score from a tight angle.
England then levelled the score in first-half added time following a brilliant piece of play that saw Anthony Gordon cross into the box for Jude Bellingham, who fired home after one touch.

In the second half, neither team could breach the opponent’s backline, sending the encounter into extra time.
Upon resumption, Morgan Rogers fired a shot which Ørjan Nyland spilled, allowing Bellingham to slide the ball in and give England the lead for the first time in the match.
The Three Lions were later denied an opportunity to extend their lead after the referee overturned a penalty kick he had initially awarded, following advice from VAR. However, Thomas Tuchel’s men held on to win.
Following the hard-fought victory, England will now face Argentina or Switzerland in the last-four tie on Wednesday, 15 July.
