Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has backed France to lift this year’s FIFA World Cup trophy.
He tipped the European country for glory recently while speaking at the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Show in Paris, the capital of France.
Les Bleus finished as the runners-up of the 2022 edition of the tournament, losing to reigning champions Argentina in the final.
They will take on Morocco on Thursday night in a World Cup quarter-final fixture for a place in the semi-finals.

Asked about his thoughts on the tournament, Okoye tipped France to go all the way this time around.
The 26-year-old Udinese shot-stopper, however, admitted that he was rooting for Germany before they were eliminated from the competition.
“I was rooting for Germany, but, unfortunately, we are out already,” Okoye said via Dazed on Instagram.
“I think I will go with France,” he added.
