Former Ghana striker, Asamoah Gyan, has criticised the way his country were dumped out of the 2026 World Cup, admitting, “It’s frustrating.”
He made this known after the round-of-32 encounter while analysing the match on SuperSport.
Ghana lost 1-0 to Colombia on Saturday morning in a match played at the Kansas City Stadium.
Despite the narrow scoreline, the South Americans were by far the better team on the day, as the Black Stars ended the match without registering a single shot on target.
Ghana had opened their tournament with a 1-0 win over Panama and drew 0-0 with England, before losing 2-1 to Croatia.
However, the West African nation still qualified for the knockout rounds as one of the best third-placed teams.

Reacting to their elimination from the World Cup, Gyan questioned why the team didn’t show any urgency in the match.
He also asserted that the Ghana coach kept changing tactics in every game, arguing that such a strategy would disrupt the team.
Speaking on the show, the former Sunderland forward said: “The way Ghana played today, I don’t like it when you are losing and do not show any urgency.”
Gyan added: “It’s frustrating. Show the world you want to win.
“In my view, we should have kept playing the way we played against England. It worked for us.
“If we keep changing tactics during the tournament, there is a problem.”
