The stage is set for two London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, to make last-ditch efforts to ensure they stay in the English Premier League (EPL) next season.

While Spurs welcome Everton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Hammers host Leeds United at the London Stadium on Sunday evening.

Tottenham currently sit in 17th position on the Premier League table with 38 points, just two points ahead of 18th-placed West Ham, who have garnered 36 points after 37 matches.

Both teams head into the match after losing their last league fixtures against Chelsea and Newcastle, respectively.

Spurs lost 2-1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while West Ham suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Magpies at St James’ Park.

For Tottenham, the defeat to the Blues means their relegation battle goes down to the wire, but their fate remains in their own hands.

An outright win against Everton at home will ensure they stay up, avoiding relegation, while a draw would also almost certainly suffice because of their superior goal difference.

West Ham, on the other hand, will be hoping David Moyes and his men do them a favour by beating Roberto De Zerbi’s side, but they themselves must beat visiting Leeds to stand a chance.
