2027: Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo and the end of ethnic agenda in Kogi politics
By Isah Jibrin Egbolo
As the journey toward the 2027 general elections begins, the political barometer in Kogi State has shifted significantly. The Deputy Governor, through the Ododo/Oyibo Political Network under the auspices of Emma “Show Love,” has successfully dismantled ethnic agendas driven by ill-fated ethno-regional organisations that once dominated the state’s political landscape.
His Excellency, Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo, holds the firm belief that good leadership and governance are not built on ethnic chauvinism, but on collective responsibility and genuine inclusion — the true recipes for democratic ideals. He aligns fully with the vision of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, which emphasises equity, popular participation, and inclusive governance. For Elder Oyibo, the beauty of democracy lies in broad-based opinion and active citizen involvement.
Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo represents accessibility and authentic grassroots leadership. He is fondly loved by his people as a strategic thinker who goes beyond lip service. Through deliberate actions, he builds bridges and attracts opportunities to the masses, irrespective of ethnic, social, or political affiliations.
Under the Ododo/Oyibo Political Network, the masses have cast aside primordial identities and negative insinuations in support of the 2027 Ododo/Oyibo Continuity Project. The current administration prioritises innovation in commerce, agriculture, cottage industries, job creation, youth empowerment, and solutions to ecological challenges.
As the state looks toward sustainable economic prosperity, Ododo and Oyibo function as inseparable twins — visionary leaders who see clearly and act decisively. Elder Joel Salifu Oyibo serves as a vital bridge between tested experience and youthful energy, providing balanced and purposeful leadership.
Through consistent enlightenment campaigns, Elder Oyibo promotes the message that unity is the foundation of growth. He urges citizens to avoid actions and rhetoric that mischaracterise the government’s noble intentions, especially those spread by merchants of falsehood and campaigns of calumny.
A noteworthy hallmark of the Ododo/Oyibo Political Network under Emma O. J. (popularly known as Emma Show Love) is its members’ declaration of commitment to choose love over hatred, unity over division, forgiveness over bitterness, and understanding over conflict. This mindset is geared toward ensuring a triumphant return of the Ododo/Oyibo ticket in 2027 for continued good governance and purposeful leadership.
