Guinness World Records has reacted to the unusual bread-inspired outfit donned by former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, at the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
The prestigious event took place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Eko Hotel in Lagos State, with many movie stars from across Africa showcasing elegant outfits from various designers.
Just like many other celebrities, Queen appeared on the red carpet in a costume designed to look like loaves of bread.
Her bold fashion statement at the occasion subsequently went viral across social media platforms, even drawing the attention of Guinness World Records.
The organisation hinted at her bread-themed look with a curious reaction, noting that it already has a record for the largest cake dress.
Reacting to a video she shared on Instagram on Sunday, May 10, it wrote, “Well, we do have a record for the largest cake dress … hmmm.”
Reposting the video of herself in the outfit after the remark, Queen added a screenshot of the Guinness World Records’ comment as an overlay on the clip.
Addressing the organisation directly in her caption, the reality star wrote: “Hello @guinnessworldrecords, I see you in the comment section.”
