Federal High Court CJ approves  posting of 14 new judges to various divisions

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria,  Honourable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, OFR, KSS, FCIArb(UK) has approved new posting schedule for recently appointed judges to  various divisions, following recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC).

According to a  statement issued in Abuja on Friday by Dr Catherine Oby Christopher, Director of Information, Federal High Court of Nigeria, all the affected judges are directed by the Chief Judge to assume duty at their respective duty stations on Wednesday May 13, 2026.

“Following the recent appointment of 14 new judges and the reposting of three existing judges of the Federal High Court, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has approved and released a new posting schedule for judges of the Court to various judicial divisions across the country,” the statement said.

Under the new posting, Justice Hassan Dikko has been posted to the Gusau Division in Zamfara State, while Justices Salim Olasupo Ibrahim and Onah Chigozie Sergius will serve at the Abuja Division.

Justice Sulaiman Amida Hassan was posted to the Osogbo Division in Osun State. Justice Muhammad Saidu will  serve at the Minna Division in Niger State; Justice Igboko Conchita  is to report at the Akure Division in Ondo State; Justice Onuegbu Angela at the Yenagoa Division in Bayelsa State; and Justice Galumje Edingah at the Abakaliki Division in Ebonyi State.

Others include Justice Ibrahim Eneabo, posted to the Gombe Division; Justice Abubakar Usman, Ado-Ekiti Division in Ekiti State; Justice Salihu Yunusa, Damaturu Division in Yobe State; and Justice Ikpeme Bassey, Uyo Division in Akwa Ibom State.

The Chief Judge also posted Justice Shehu Adamu to Maiduguri Division in Borno State; Justice Mohammed Buba to Dutse Division in Jigawa State; and Justice Binjin-Eigegbe Nendelmum Judith to Lokoja Division in Kogi State.

Justice Usoro Uduak and Justice Nwoye Osinachi Donatus are to serve at the Lagos Division.

According to the statement, the new postings take immediate effect.

Recall that 14 new judges were appointed for the High Court to cope with the high volume of cases in the dockets of the current serving Judges and in anticipation of cases that may arise from the 2027 general elections.

Their appointment followed the recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC), after a thorough screening of academic qualifications and general conduct.

Upon their appointment, the new judges were attached to senior judges of the court for practical experience on adjudication.

With the posting of these new judges, the Federal High Court of Nigeria will now have 100 serving Judges  across its 38 Judicial divisions.
