Popular social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, and celebrity cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, aka BLord, have agreed to settle their ongoing legal dispute amicably.
This was disclosed recently by VeryDarkMan’s counsel, Marshall Abubakar, who also serves as the lawyer for activist Omoyele Sowore.
The Background of the Rift
Earlier, BLord was remanded in Kuje Prison following a social media altercation which led to an alleged case of impersonation levelled against him by VeryDarkMan.
Reacting to the development, Sowore faulted both the influencer and his lawyer, Marshall Abubakar, for using influence and legal technicalities to ensure BLord’s remand, vowing to secure his release.
In response, VeryDarkMan threatened to “send Sowore to prison,” criticising the politician’s style of activism and stating that he had never supported him.
The Turning Point
However, two weeks after the remand, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Abuja Federal High Court granted BLord bail on self-recognizance.

Briefing the press following the bail hearing, Marshall Abubakar revealed that his client and BLord have now agreed to settle the matter out of court. While expressing appreciation for Sowore’s intervention, Abubakar noted that BLord is now viewed as “a brother and friend.”
“We have now resolved to work together and to get this matter resolved amicably. On the next adjourned date, hopefully, we would’ve resolved the matter and report back to the court on the progress made so far.”
Defending the Actions
Despite the reconciliation, Abubakar defended VeryDarkMan’s initial decision to involve the authorities, arguing that the influencer had been left with no choice given BLord’s conduct during the rift.
“The long-awaited bail of our brother and friend, BLord, has been perfected,” Abubakar said. “We do not want to dwell on what has happened in the past. Regarding today’s court proceedings, we must commend our leader here, Mr Omoyele Sowore, for the role he played.”
He continued: “We must also appreciate VeryDarkMan for conceding to see that this matter is resolved amicably. The fact cannot be denied that VeryDarkMan was offended… and the way and manner that our friend now, BLord, went about this issue was most unfortunate. You do not offend a man in Africa and tell the man to do his worst. As a man who felt offended, VeryDarkMan had the right to approach the police and the court system to take up a fight that has a criminal element.”
Abubakar concluded by stating that both men are “respected youths” and that the future of the country lies in the hands of young people with a desire to contribute positively.
