Mbappe, however, admitted that despite his optimism about Neymar donning Brazil’s jersey at the 2026 World Cup, the final decision rests with Ancelotti.

France and Real Madrid striker, Kylian Mbappe, has reacted to the possibility of Brazil star Neymar Jr missing out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
His reaction followed the announcement of the Brazil squad for this month’s friendlies against France and Croatia by the country’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian tactician, while unveiling the team, omitted Neymar, claiming the Santos forward is not yet 100% fit.
”Why didn’t I call him up this time? Because he is not 100% and I need players who are 100%,” Ancelotti explained. “Neymar must therefore continue to train, to play, to demonstrate his qualities and be in good physical condition.”
Reacting to being left out of the squad, Neymar said he was saddened by Ancelotti’s decision not to include his name.
”I’m going to speak here, because I can’t keep this quiet,” Neymar told Mad House, via Foot Mercato. “Obviously, I’m disappointed and sad not to have been selected. But I remain focused, day after day, training after training, match after match. We are going to reach our goal. There is still the final selection.”

Speaking on the development, Mbappe expressed confidence that Neymar will be ready to be part of the Brazil squad for the World Cup in the summer.
However, despite being optimistic about the chances of the Brazilian forward donning his country’s jersey at the tournament, he admitted the decision rests solely with Ancelotti.
“Neymar is Neymar. The World Cup is for world stars, and he will be there.
“I cannot imagine a World Cup without Ney, but I won’t go against Ancelotti.
“I’m sure Ney will get ready,” Mbappe told Ge.Globo, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
