Real Madrid, Man City set for heavyweight showdown as UEFA confirms last-16 fixtures

Real Madrid qualified for the Champions League round of 16 after beating Benfica 3-1 on aggregate in the play-offs.

European giants Real Madrid and Manchester City are set to slug it out in the Round of 16 of this season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL).

This heavyweight clash was confirmed on Friday after the draw for the elite European competition’s last-16 matchups was completed in Nyon, Switzerland.”

Apart from the mouth-watering La Liga and Premier League encounter, another standout tie will see Chelsea play Paris Saint-Germain in a repeat of last year’s Club World Cup final.

UCL group leaders Arsenal were also drawn to face Bayer Leverkusen, while giant-slayers Bodø/Glimt will entertain Sporting CP.

Meanwhile, reigning Premier League champions Liverpool will slug it out with Turkish giants Galatasaray, who eliminated Juventus in the play-offs.

All eight fixtures will be played on 10–11 March and 17–18 March.
