The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has officially left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He announced his decision on Friday during a state-wide broadcast to the people of his state.
According to Fintiri, he defected to the APC alongside his entire cabinet and all local PDP officials.

He further stated that his decision was made in the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State.
This latest development follows similar decisions by the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, and his Kano and Plateau State counterparts, Abba Yusuf and Caleb Mutfwang, to dump their respective parties and join the ruling party.
