Ondo govt condoles Kwara over Woro attack, commends Tinubu’s military deployment

The Ondo State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the recent attack on Woro community in Kwara State, describing the incident as painful and disturbing.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, the state government conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kwara State over the loss of innocent lives and the disruption of peace in the affected community.
The government described the attack as a sad reminder of the lingering security challenges confronting parts of the country, noting that such incidents underscore the need for sustained vigilance and collective resolve against violence.
“Ondo State stands in solidarity with His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the affected families and the entire people of Woro at this difficult time,” the statement read.
It prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims and asked God to grant comfort, strength and healing to the bereaved families.
The government also wished those injured in the attack a speedy and full recovery.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity and collective action against all forms of violence, the Ondo State Government stressed that criminal acts must not be allowed to undermine national cohesion or threaten the safety of communities.
The government further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the swift deployment of a battalion of military personnel to the affected areas, describing the move as a decisive step towards restoring calm and preventing further breakdown of law and order.
