Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has said he needs time to figure out where Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman fits best in his squad, noting, however, that “he has vision to attack”.
He made this known during a press briefing ahead of Sunday’s La Liga match against Real Betis.
Lookman, who joined Atletico Madrid in the winter transfer window, made his debut on Thursday night in a Copa del Rey match at the Estadio La Cartuja.
The Nigerian international had an immediate impact, scoring one goal and providing an assist as Atletico secured a 5-0 victory to progress to the semi-finals.

Speaking about the upcoming league fixture, Simeone hailed his new signing for his intelligent playmaking ability.
The Argentine coach noted, however, that both the player and the team are still learning how to work together.
He added that the Nigerian will soon adapt to Atletico’s style of play, and that the coaching staff are currently assessing his strengths to ensure he is utilised effectively.
“We’ll try to get to know each other better. He will start understanding the team, and we will learn about his abilities,” Simeone said, as quoted by Fichajes. “He has the vision to attack, and we will work with the team to find the best approach.”
