U.S. Representative Riley Moore (R-WV), who represents West Virginia’s 2nd congressional district, has reacted to the abduction of twenty-five schoolgirls in northern Nigeria.
Speaking via his official X handle, the U.S. lawmaker claimed that the incident happened in a “Christian enclave” in the Northern part of the country.
On Monday, suspected terrorists caused mayhem in the early hours after kidnapping female students of Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The assailants also reportedly murdered the school’s vice principal during the unprovoked attack.

Reacting to the incident, the U.S. legislator, who has previously voiced concerns about what he believes is a genocide against Christians in Nigeria, called on the President Bola Tinubu-led government to address the “rampant violence.”
He also prayed for the safe return of the twenty-five abducted girls and the repose of the soul of the late Vice Principal.
Taking to his verified social media handle, the Republican lawmaker wrote: “Please join me in praying for the 25 girls who have been kidnapped and for the repose of the soul of their vice principal who was killed.
“While we don’t have all the details on this horrific attack, we know that the attack occurred in a Christian enclave in Northern Nigeria.
“The Nigerian government must do more to end the rampant violence.
