Cristiano Ronaldo hails Trump, says ‘He can change the world’

Ronaldo is expected to feature for his country, Portugal, during next year’s World Cup.

Al-Nassr captain and former Manchester United winger, Cristiano Ronaldo, has eulogised United States President, Donald Trump, saying he is someone who can ‘change the world’.

​He made this known recently during an interview with British journalist, Piers Morgan.

​Trump, who is in his second spell as United States President, is a highly controversial figure.

​The 79-year-old has taken some bold steps that affected nations across the world since he regained power.

​While the overwhelming majority of the Republican Party believe he is doing a great job, others, mostly Democrats, accused him of polarising the country.

​His nation will be among the three countries that will host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

​The two other countries are Canada and Mexico, and the World Cup will be held across 16 cities.

​Speaking about his impression of Trump during the chat, Ronaldo said, “Donald Trump is one of the guys that can help to change the world.”

​Ronaldo is expected to captain his country, Portugal, during next year’s World Cup.
