Eyoto Academy drags young athletes to Ogbemudia Stadium in December

The Executive Board of Eyoto Sports Academy has finalized plans to host the 6th edition of the grassroots athletics competitions on December 8th- 9th, 2025, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
The championship has become a cornerstone for grassroots athletics development in Edo State over years , serving as a scouting ground for coaches searching for talented athletes.
The competition has earned a reputation for consistency and impact, offering scholarships, attractive cash prices, competitive opportunities and support to young athletes representing the Edo state at major competitions.
The Eyoto Sports Academy Executive Council, led by Dr. Felix Idahosa (President), alongside Festus Idahosa Erese (Vice President), Sonny Okundolor (Secretary), and Friday Enoye (Treasurer), has been instrumental in sustaining the Academy’s mission of empowering young athletes through sport and education.
Dr. Idahosa, also reaffirmed his commitment to giving back through philanthropy and sports development.
He emphasized that this year’s edition will feature elite-level events in the 100m, 400m, and Hammer Throw, with cash prizes for top performers.
“At Eyoto, we believe in creating opportunities that inspire young athletes to reach their full potential, both on and off the track,” said Dr. Idahosa.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Council, Mr. Friday Enoye, the Academy’s Treasurer noted that this year’s competition promises to be bigger, better, and more structured, ensuring a well-organized experience for all participants and spectators.
The 2-day event will feature 10 track and field events for boys and 10 for girls, with scholarships and cash rewards for the best performers.
