Benin Republic manager, Gernot Rohr has said playing at home does not give the Super Eagles of Nigeria an edge over his team because his players are used to playing away matches.

He gave the warning on Monday while addressing journalists during his press conference in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom.

Nigeria will take on Benin Republic in the final fixture of their World Cup qualifiers  on Tuesday evening at 5 PM Nigerian time.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Rohr pointed out that his players played all their matches away from home throughout the qualifiers as CAF could not approve any venue in Benin.

He went on to urge them to stay composed as the fight for the World Cup ticket ends.

He also expressed optimism about the challenge of beating the Super Eagles at home for the first time ever.

Rohr said, “We go for a win but we know that we have to be patient and we know that Nigeria has only a chance if they win, so I believe it will be a very open match,” Rohr told reporters.

“When you see that we played all the matches away, not one match at home.

“We are used to playing away and to have some finals. We had it also in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“We also had the last game very difficult in Libya under very special circumstances. Nigeria saw how it is there, and we won there in a very bad atmosphere.”

Nigeria must beat the Cheetahs of Benin Republic in Uyo to stand a chance of qualifying for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
