Lesotho coach, Notsi insists Crocodiles can beat Super Eagles

Notsi also reminded everybody that Lesotho held Nigeria in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying encounter in Uyo.

Lesotho head coach, Leslie Notsi has said his team can upset the Super Eagles of Nigeria when they meet at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday (today).

He made this known on Thursday during his press conference.

The Crocodiles will be up against the Super Eagles in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday nine encounter.

Nigeria will head into the game as overwhelming favourites going by their pedigree and gulf in clash between both countries.

However, Lesotho drew with Eric Chelle’s men in the first leg of the encounter at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. 

Speaking ahead of the match, Notsi, said his team can beat their highly illustrious opponent.

He also reminded everybody that Lesotho drew against Nigeria in the first leg of the Word Cup qualifying match in Uyo.

While addressing journalists, Notsi said, “We are approaching this match knowing it’s not going to be easy, but the self-belief that we have had before, in our previous encounter. We believe we have an opportunity to continue where we left off in our last match in November 2023.”

Lesotho sit in fifth position in Group C with nine points from eight games.
