Pires noted that Arteta “made certain demands, which were met by the Arsenal board”

Former Arsenal winger, Robert Pires, has said his old club will part ways with Spanish tactician, Mikel Arteta, if he does not win the English Premier League (EPL) title this season.
He made this known recently during an interview with French sports website, Foot Mercato.
Arteta has failed to win the EPL trophy for the Gunners since he took over at the north London club five years ago.
The former Man City assistant coach, however, finished as runners-up in the league in the past three seasons.
As a result, Arsenal’s owners backed him during the summer transfer window and will expect him to deliver the league trophy or the elusive UEFA Champions League title.
Speaking on what is expected from Arteta this season, Pires the EPL title has eluded him, and Arsenal will find another manager to replace him, if he fails to deliver the English top-flight league trophy this term.

He said, “In my opinion, if Arsenal don’t win a trophy this year, the management will consider finding another coach.
“He’s been there for five years, and unfortunately, the title has eluded him. What’s important for the fans is the championship.
“Money was spent in the summer transfer window. He made certain demands, which were met by the Arsenal board.
“If Arsenal don’t win the championship, I think there will definitely be a change on the bench.
“It’s not going to be easy because you have Liverpool, you have Man City, who are there, and Chelsea won’t be far behind. But I think Arsenal holds the cards and has the players to win the title.”
Arsenal currently sit in the second position on the Premier League table with two points behind leaders Liverpool this season.
