As emphasized by Aliyu, the athletes are cognizant of the importance of these championships for their careers and are dedicated to reciprocating the efforts made to prepare them.

According to him, “The President and board of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) have shown enough dedication to providing welfare for athletes and technical crew, thereby enabling them to perform optimally.

Athletes are satisfied and have vowed to deliver outstanding performances in both Ghana and Tokyo Championships. Aliyu, who is also a board member of the Federation, noted that there’s no injury concerns presently as everyone is for an injury free team.

However, the AFN President Chief Tonobok Okowa has encouraged athletes to maximize their efforts in securing the remaining qualification slots, ensuring that the Federation will provide comprehensive support. “We hope that our sponsors will continue to support athletes participating in the Ghana and Tokyo championships, thereby enabling the Federation to cater to their needs adequately.”
