Oshoala hails Nkwocha, two other ex-Super Falcons stars, says ‘They paved way for me’

Oshoala, who played for the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona, also said it was privileged to play with some of them.

Bay FC forward, Asisat Oshoala, has praised the sacrifices made by three former Super Falcons players, Perpetua Nkwocha, Precious Dede and Rita Chikwelu, saying the trio paved the way for her.

The striker, who recently helped the Nigerian senior female football team to win their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations’ title, made this known while speaking on Arise News.

According to the forward, it was an honour to play with some of them before they retired.

“Right now, if you Google players to see who has the most goals in the clubs, you have the likes of Perpetua Nkwocha,.” Oshoala said during the interview.

She added, “Those are the people that actually paved the way for someone like me to be able to come into the Super Falcons and enjoy certain things.

“You have the goalkeeper Precious Dede, Rita Chikwelu, so many Super Falcons players.

“I was fortunate to play with some of them before they retired.”

Prior to signing for her latest club, Oshoala played for the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona.

The 30-year-old has won six ‘CAF Women’s Player of the Year’awards.
