Super Falcons centre-back, Oluwatosin Demehin has waved away the threats posed by the Zambian female national team, saying Nigeria are stronger than their South African counterpart.
The Galatasaray defender made the assertion during a recent interview on Brila FM.
Nigeria, and Zambia will clash in a quarter-final fixture of the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday.
The game is scheduled to kick-off at 5pm Nigerian time at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca.
Zambia have impressed with their fluid attacking play in Morocco.
Their attacking pair, Barbara Banda, and Rachel Kundananji have also terrorised opposing defenders with ease.
The duo have scored three goals each in the competition.
However, speaking ahead of their last eight encounter against Zambia, Demehin said the Copper Queens are not a match for Nigeria.
She went on to note that while the Super Falcons are yet to let in a goal in three matches, the Southern African team have conceded 4 goals.
She said, “Zambia is not a tough team compared to the Super Falcons. We are yet to concede a single goal after playing three matches, but they have conceded four goals.”
