Trace rolls out Easter operational order

The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) in Ogun State is deploying 150 officers and men to man strategic locations daily from next Monday 14th , through Sunday 27th of this month to ensure safety on the roads during the Easter period.

The locations include Abeokuta metropolis, Abeokuta – Kobape – Siun – interchange-Sagamu, Sagamu – Ijebu Ode-Benin Expressway, Abeokuta – Ewekoro- Papalanto – Sango Otta, Papalanto -Ilaro-Owode-Idiroko, Sango-Ota-Atan-Agbara and Lagos- Ibadan expressway.

The Corps’ Director of Operations, Seni Ogunyemi who made this disclosure in an operation order added that “help areas” where motorists can receive prompt attention in cases of emergencies including Kobape – Siun axis,Mowe-RCCG, Ogere toll gate, interchange Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, Expressway – Mobalufon junction, Owode roundabout along Idi-Iroko axis and Ilaro junction towards Ibese axis are also to be established during the period.

Ogunyemi said the mission of the operation among other things was to educate and enlighten road users on road safety, compliance with road traffic rules and regulation to prevent crashes, provide prompt and effective rescue and emergency services to crash victims and evacuate broken down vehicles promptly.

He therefore enjoined all zonal and unit commanders as well as the officers and men to be civil, courteous, exhibit high level of professionalism and collaborate with other sister agencies to ensure safety on the roads while the operation lasted.

He also admonished motorists across the State to drive safely and abide with all traffic rules, warning that defaulters would be penalized accordingly.
