Guardiola extends Man City contract till 2026

Guardiola is the most successful manager in the history of Man City, winning 17 trophies since he arrived in 2016

Spanish tactician, Pep Guardiola, has agreed to extend his contract with English Premier League champions, Manchester City by one-year.

According to The Athletic, City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain departed last month and there were speculations that Guardiola could follow suit.

There were also reports that  Manchester United’s new boss, Ruben Amorim was being considered as his replacement before the Portuguese finally moved to Old Trafford.

However, Guardiola’s decision to sign the dotted lines brings an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

His current deal with the Etihad club was billed to expire in June 2025.

But the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has now committed his future to City until 2026.

It is believed that the fresh terms include the option for an additional year.

Guardiola is the most successful manager in the history of Manchester City, winning 17 trophies since he arrived in 2016.

During the period, the 45-year-old won the EPL trophy for four consecutive times.
