Tems and Ayra Starr done better than me, they “are amazing,” he says

Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) says he agrees with Odumodublvck that female Afrobeats purveyors Tems and Ayra Starr have done better their male counterparts, including himself.

Odumodublvck claimed on a recent podcast that Tems and Ayra Starr have done more for the Nigerian music industry than Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, and Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Burna Boy, even though both are Grammy winners.

In his view, being a successful female artiste is the hardest job in the world.

Odumodublvck’s assertion earned him backlash from some netizens on X (Twitter).

Reacting to the bashing, Odumodublvck wrote on X: “[laughing and rocket emojis] Kalaaaa [his nickname] – Industry machine,” eulogising himself and mocking his trolls.

Quoting the post, Wizkid wrote: “Kala no lie [meaning Odumodublvck’s claims on the podcast weren’t false].”

Another X user wrote under Wizkid’s post: “So Ayra Starr and Tems are better than you. I’m glad you used your mouth to say Odumodu is not lying.”

Wizkid replied: “I see u weren’t raised by a good woman and love at home. Ayra Star and Tems are amazing.”
