Super Eagles land in Rwanda as Peseiro assures team will bounce back against Zimbabwe

Super Eagles are desperate to get their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying back on track after failing to beat Lesotho on Thursday

Super Eagles players and their officials have arrived in Rwanda for Sunday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash against Southern African nation,  Zimbabwe

The contingent departed Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, on Friday night and arrived in Kigali in the early hours of Saturday after a three hours, 30 minutes flight.

They then proceeded on a two-hour road trip to the city of Butare where Huye Stadium, venue of the encounter with Zimbabwe is located.

The Super Eagles are expected to have a feel of the Huye Stadium later tonight.

Meanwhile, Jose Peseiro has assured Nigerians that his team will bounce back from a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Lesotho with victory against Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Super Eagles are desperate to get their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign back on track after failing to beat minnows Lesotho at home on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters about the highly consequential game, the former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach stated that they will go all out for a win against their hosts.

He said, “We will respond very well (vs Zimbabwe).

“Now we have to beat Zimbabwe on Sunday.”
