Omotola shared old Nollywood movie which featured the likes of Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji and Stella Damasus

Nigerian actress and former model, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, has caused a buzz online after arguing it was Nollywood that paved the way for the Nigerian Entertainment industry and not Afrobeats.
Omotola, who has tried her hands on music in the past, made the statement on Thursday via a now-viral social media post, where she also claimed the world felt the impact of the Nigerian movie industry before the era of social media.
Taking to her Instagram page, she shared some old Nollywood movie clips, which featured other veteran thespians such as Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji and Stella Damasus.

While reminiscing on the impact the Nigerian movie industry had made in the past, Omotola also revealed someone sent her the videos she shared, adding that they gave her a nostalgic feeling.
The 45-year-old actress further said the movies had put Nigeria on the world map before the music industry followed a similar part.
Taking to her social media page, she wrote: “Someone sent me some of these vids and it was nostalgic, lol.
“Despite the not-so-great quality, No social media, these movies Broke barriers. Way Before Afrobeats We introduced Nigerian Entertainment to the World. We took on the World. we still.
“Name the Movies you know. Lol.”
